“The Joy of Devore: One of My Favourite Processes”

Jennifa finds devoré captivating for its unique ability to create intricate patterns through the selective removal of fibres, resulting in intricate patterns formed by contrasting textures. This process creates areas of semi-transparency where the fabric’s base material remains, producing a delicate interplay between opaque and sheer surfaces. The subtle translucency achieved through devoré enhances the visual depth and tactile richness of textiles, making it a favuored technique for introducing both pattern and dimension in fabric art.
